We are working now to coordinate with the SPCA to get these kittens fixed. It is not only time but getting late.  I am having difficulty getting all the information I need, primarily, can I bring in as many at a time that I can? The SPCA only has clinics 2 Sundays a month. Not good.  I need sooner.

However, we have Sweetie Pie’s new litter of 7 (we think) that are beautiful, but, hell-ooo. Five are totally black and 2 are cream/blue eyes (Siamese).  They are still tiny and tend to scamper away when humans arrive, though a couple are getting braver.  And I think Sweetie Pie is p.g. again!  How can that be? We are not sure about Magic. She still looks on the large side but can’t still be with kittens…? If she’s had her litter, it was elsewhere. However, rest assured she will bring them here.

These new “residents” are intimidating my own. They don’t fight but mine give in to the others at the food trough so, though I feed the ferals behind the barn, they come inside the barn as well and just charge in front of the ‘live-heres’.  The worst thing is Elizabeth and Tigger tend to stay away. Tigger is a big hunter in the field next door and spring and fall he’s not around much but he’s gone more than usual lately. He comes home a couple of times a week that I am seeing, but that is all. Elizabeth is around when we feed horses at night and goes with us as we feed, as usual. I’ll guard her while she eats (to keep the come-heres away) but she tends not to show up for breakfast anymore. Boots is here sometimes but a lot of times not. He is an adoptee and it hurts my feelings that he doesn’t feel he can be here all the time. Wills is in most evenings and sleeps in my lap, so that is good.  Getting to be over-whelming.  And these new kittens would be easy to find homes for if I could catch any of them!  Sigh.

Bear, the black one from the ‘older’ litter, just adores me. He spends a lot of his time in the back yard and on the deck.  He sits with me in the morning when I have my coffee.  My Sophie kitten is adjusting. He loves to be loved. Charlotte is one of the creams. She is beautiful and has an incredible coat. She likes to be loved, picked up and held. Stephen is ok with petting but don’t pick him up! Jazmine (one of the spotted ones) likes to be petted as well. I forget what I originally named her but she has a beautiful face with almond-shaped eyes and Jazmine just fit (her eyes remind me of the wife in Second Hand Lions) Trying to pet goosie Lucy but she’s not quite ready.  I think she wants to…presents herself close to facilitate it but then seems to not be able to tolerate it at the last minute.  Zoing! Fast departure! Rocky (cream/blue eyes with the black face) is trying really hard to get close. He’s been goosie for so long he is finding himself in unfamiliar territory as he gets closer and closer to me at feed time. He and Stephen have the same yummy coat that Charlotte has. Pete (the other spotted one) and Cassy (Lucy’s sister..sort of a muted gray tortise) are not game for human contact, though Pete likes to hang close by. Cassy is really small and acts like she is all alone in the world and must fend for herself!
